St. Louis Space Frontier

The Saint Louis Space Frontier is a chapter of the National Space Society. The NSS Vision is: People living and working in thriving communities beyond the Earth, and the use of the vast resources of space for the dramatic betterment of humanity. Our chapter meets monthly, participates in outreach events, has fun at social events, and hosts the Gateway to Space Conference each fall.

Who We Are

St. Louis Space Frontier was active in the 1980s and early 1990s. In September 2013 a new chapter formed and members voted to retain the earlier chapter name. Currently we are very active with monthly meetings, outreach events at the Science Center and local schools, special events, a book club, monthly newsletter, and Facebook page. We use Meetup to advertise events and have a website, Our monthly meetings are held on the fourth Saturday of the month at Washington University. The chapter has worked to build relationships with Washington University, Saint Louis University, St. Louis Astronomical Society, St. Louis Science Center, Astronomical Society of Eastern Missouri (ASEM), ArchReactor, and AIAA. The chapter hosts a regional space development conference, Gateway to Space, in the fall. We earned the NSS Chapter of the Year Award for 2015.
